About Charter Autism Foundation

Charter Autism Foundation was established in Atlanta, Georgia by David and Marjorie McKenna, the parents of a son with autism. Through their personal experience, the McKenna’s identified an urgent need throughout the country for autism-related services. They created the Foundation in 1997 to create and support programs that address the needs of individuals with autism and their families.

As an organization founded by parents, we bring to bear a total, personal commitment to make the Foundation an important force in the autism community.

Our grant-making program is the primary focus of the Foundation. The purpose of the program is to provide financial assistance to organizations and programs that provide autism-related services. Information about our grant program is contained on this website.
