Grant Guidelines
Charter Autism Foundation is actively seeking grant applications. We are eager to support projects that meet our guidelines. Please contact us if you have a new or existing program in need of funding.
Applicant
Eligibility
Grants
can be made to tax-exempt private agencies that the
IRS classifies
under the law as 501(c)(3) organizations, public charities,
and governmental agencies.
Projects and Programs
Supported by the Foundation
The
Foundation supports programs that address identified needs
of individuals with autism and their families. Key areas of
Foundation interest are:
- Community
organizations that provide educational, social, or treatment
services to individuals with autism.
- Community organizations that provide general support
services to individuals with autism or their families.
-
Organizations that assist financially disadvantaged families
in caring for autistic family members.
-
Services addressing the needs of autistic people of all
ages.
-
Community awareness initiatives or educational opportunities
that increase knowledge of autism among caregivers, professionals,
or the general public.
The Foundation gives highest priority
to projects in or providing services to the state of Georgia,
but may consider projects in other southeastern states.
Foundation grants typically provide money
for specific initiatives or programs and are not intended
as a recurring source of income. The Foundation looks
for
requests that include alternative sources of funding and
realistic plans for permanent financial support for
continued operation
costs. Proposals that include multiple funding sources will
generally receive more favorable consideration.
Non-qualifying Projects
and Programs
The
Foundation does not fund or support the following:
- General
operating costs of established organizations and agencies.
-
Salaries of employees or contract persons not directly related
to a project for which a grant is being requested.
-
Endowment and debt reduction.
-
Fund-raising activities.
-
Religious organizations for religious purposes.
-
Annual appeals and membership contributions.
-
Travel for individuals or groups.
-
Lobbying activities or organizations that conduct lobbying
activities.
